Job Description

Assist and/or carry out the following responsibilities

Credit Risk Management

Day to day execution of the credit policy and process of the organization

Design and implementation of the Credit Process from receipt of application to credit sanction; ensure incorporation of sufficient safeguards such that desired operational efficiency is achieved without compromise in portfolio quality

Ensure that the credit processes are designed to offer fast Turn-around Time for the customers, are hassle free for the customers to understand and for employees to implement, make use of innovations in technology and process tools and are within the risk appetite of the organization

Lead the Credit Underwriting and Administration team to ensure correct interpretation and implementation of the credit policy; ensure that any modifications in the policy are circulated to all concerned employees and facilitate the feedback from credit team to the policy and risk department on the policy related aspects

Cater to concerns/queries of the credit underwriting team regarding appraisal or any other aspects of the credit policy

Remain updated with the latest trends in the market with respect to leading practices in products, pricing, credit underwriting tools and systems, credit operating processes and efficiencies etc.; provide inputs to the Policy Department, OSM and other senior management personnel on the latest trends

Ensure that the credit underwriting principles are within the policy guidelines and maintain a balance between returns and risk exposure

Lead the credit team at HO, Regional Offices and branches to ensure that a high quality standard is maintained in the credit portfolio

Monitor the use of credit score cards and other risk management tools / systems to ensure that the portfolio quality is maintained; provide inputs to the Policy and Risk team in redesign / revamping of these tools and techniques as per the inputs gained from actual usage

Provide support to the Collections department in periodic monitoring and analysis of portfolio performance to ensure that desire level of portfolio quality is maintained; undertake further investigations wherever cases of lapse in portfolio quality/ loan application processes are reported

Oversee the development of MIS/analytical tools which can be utilized to gain significant insights into customer behaviour, application parameters which can be utilized for further enhancements or modifications to the Credit policy

Reporting to senior management and Board as and when required on the aspects related to credit policy implementation; Monitoring of receivables, insurance and expiry of accounts; Submission of quarterly portfolio reviews to the Credit Committee of the Board

Provide inputs on portfolio performance and credit forecast to the CEO-NAFA, OSM and Head of Finance & Accounts for developing business plans and forecasts for the organization

Support the internal and external audit processes; ensure that queries /concerns raised in the audit process are addressed in a time bound manner

Participate in the Credit Committee as per the quorum and participation criteria laid down for the Credit Committee in the credit policy

Exposure to designing/policy developing and credit evaluation of receivable financing/discounting products from an NBFCs perspective

Exposure/ability to guide respective departments/officials in developing such products, which can be sold off (securitization) to banks either as PSL or for refinancing purpose

Thorough understanding on the regulatory implications on every product & services developed by NAFA

Credit Policy

Responsible for development of credit policy of the organization

Regularly review and update the credit policy of the organization taking into account market trends, organizations strategy and risk appetite, feedback from the business and credit departments

Keep abreast of the regulatory requirements, prudent policies and market trends with respect to Credit and incorporate the same in the Credit policy of the organization; ensure that internal and external compliances with respect to credit policy and products are maintained

Provide inputs to the OSM and Credit teams on new products with respect to risk, covenants etc.

Review the existing product categories, credit structuring and pricing and suggest amendments to the same

Develop final product proposals in consultation with the OSM, Credit team members and business development team and submit to the Board for approval

Submit the credit policy for approval to the Board and responsible for addressing any queries of the Board / senior management with respect to credit policy

Develop effective tools and systems to enable objective and data based credit decisioning; develop robust credit scoring models for various products

Develop effective credit risk management tools to assist the Credit department in monitoring the credit decisioning process

Develop effective risk management tools to enable monitoring of market risk parameters, operational risk parameters

Monitor performance of various departments against the risk measurement parameters and escalate any discrepancies to the CEO

Keep up to date with the industry practices on market and operational risk management and provide inputs to the CEO for policy design

Coordinate with the Collections head to ensure effective portfolio monitoring mechanisms are in place including early warning mechanisms, etc

Support the Internal Audit department in development of measures to assess appropriate implementation of the credit policy

Review the credit processes followed for appraisal, sanction, monitoring and recovery and settlement of various product categories and provide inputs to the respective departments for improvements in processes

Monitor adherence of regulatory requirements with respect to credit exposure, clientele etc.

Participate in the Credit Committee as required as per the quorum and participation guidelines of the Credit policy

Administrative Responsibilities

Assist and/or carry out the following responsibilities

Perform all necessary administrative responsibilities.

Ensure adequate staffing with experienced staff to deliver on all areas

Plan and provide for staff development in the department to ensure facilitation for growth

Plan and execute for succession to ensure seamless transitions and continuity

Appraise department staff on areas of improvement and assist them with their development plan

Plan, approve and supervise leaves of absence of his/her team

He/she will also undertake any other functions / tasks assigned by the CEO, ECM/designated Committee of Management and any board committees, in the interest of the organization.

Education:(UG - Any Graduate) AND (PG - Any PG Course, Post Graduation Not Required)

Skill-sets To take care of the responsibilities mentioned above

Background 

Experience in Credit Risk Management of NBFC Loan Company/Asset Finance Company is must

Around 8-10 years of experience in CRM field of any FI of which at least 5-6 years with relevant NBFC space

Experience with foreign entity promoted NBFC, NBFC-Loan Company/Asset Finance Company would be considered favorably
